Sharing the adventures and horizons of the good sloop Akimbo and her crew going sailing... You might want to start at the "beginning" (October 3, 2009)? Thank you for visiting. It means a lot to me, so please leave comments or e-mail me @ jonthowe@gmail.com, and encourage others to visit too. It's a way for me to feel your company even from afar. Good luck to us all. in Ensenada

Okay. No one would call a day of bureaucracy fun. But that's what today was. Even less fun when the anchor started to drag...ah yes, more humble pie. In any case, i want to post more...(saw our first whale go by at sunset last night - not that he/she "went by")...but am done ("stick a fork in me"). On to Turtle Bay, San Martin, and LaPaz. Maybe then?

Thinkin' of Jack's big birthday party...etc...carrying you all in our hearts.

Hola,

Coma esta? I know you won't get this for awhile, but I wish you well and promise to write a better email soon. Raining and raining and raining and then not raining, then raining again.

We missed you at the party! It was a great time of dancing and being goofy. I guess you'll just have to wait to see the video of Cinny's special dance for Jack ;-)

Love you!

Jon,
Jim here, still way out there in the Pacific. We are now about 11 north and 118 west. We are on our last station, and should be heading back to Honolulu sometime on my watch tomorrow. The weather is better than when I last wrote, but it sure sounds like it is great where you are. WOW. So cool. I am sure dealing with the 'buracraps' is no fun but it anyone can do it... you can. So how is your espano? Like I always say when I am down there, "Norte Americano es mas despacio en la cabasa" not sure if I spelt that correctly or not, but maybe you get the idea. Well take care and I will keep in touch. By the way is your sailmail working yet? I haven't tried it since I last emailed you. Sounded like it wasn't tested yet. I will stay in touch though.
Fair winds and following seas to ya!
Jim
