Sharing the adventures and horizons of the good sloop Akimbo and her crew going sailing... You might want to start at the "beginning" (October 3, 2009)? Thank you for visiting. It means a lot to me, so please leave comments or e-mail me @ jonthowe@gmail.com, and encourage others to visit too. It's a way for me to feel your company even from afar. Good luck to us all. Akimbo and crew spent Thursday night in the Eureka Public Marina. As planned, crew member Jack Seifert has been delivered to the airport where he awaits his return flight to Seattle. The remaining three crew members are making final preparations before casting off here shortly and sailing to San Francisco/Bay Area. The distance is approximately 250 miles, about 2.5 days. Ideally, we will make it to the bay before the first winter storm of the season hits the coast, forecast to arrive sometime between monday and wednesday.

Remaining faithful to the blog, Cpt. Jon Howe has written a longer note this morning. However, a computer snafu rendered the post gone before publishing. More detailed posts will be broadcast from the bay.

Roger and out.
